Thank You Huskies Fans!

Huskies complete regular season play

With back to back winning seasons

We would like to thank our senior class football players and wish them all tremendous good fortune in their future...

The fireworks at halftime following the announcement of the 2011 Hagerty
Homecoming King and Queen were followed by fireworks on the field provided by
the Huskies and the Lake Howell Silver Hawks football teams in the 2nd half of a
thrilling 18-13 win by the Huskies to close out the 2011 season. Despite
dominating time of posession in the first half, Hagerty found itself down 3-0 as
Lake Howell's Garrett Kruczek kicked a 37-yard field goal as time expired.
Kruczek added a 2nd field goal on the Silver Hawks first possession of the 2nd
half before the Hagerty offense finally broke through on a 42-yard touchdown
pass from Sophomore Quarterback Jason Driskel to Senior Wide Receiver Cartree
Pettis to tie the score at 6. The Silver Hawks took the lead back at the
beginning of the 4th quarter on a Kruczek touchdown pass only to be followed up
by another Driskel touchdown pass, this time 27-yards to Senior Tight End Hunter
Boudreau. A missed extra point, however, allowed the Silver Hawks to maintain a
1-point lead. Next it was time for the Hagerty defense to shine, as Senior
Defensive Back Ethan Albers make a stop on a critical 3rd-and-1 to force a Lake
Howell punt and set up what would be the game-winning drive. Big plays were the
theme of the drive, which featured a 22-yard run by Senior Running Back
Christian Young, a 25-yard reception by Senior Wide Receiver Lucas Wainman, and
a 30-yard scramble on 4th and 2 by Driskel following a huge block by Albers.
Driskel found Pettis once again to finish the drive as he outjumped a defender
from 7 yards out for what proved to be the game winning score. Lake Howell
performed a well-executed 2 minute drill to drive into Hagerty territory, but a
sack of Kruczek by Senior Defensive Lineman Mitchell Fair thwarted the drive and
preserved the victory. The victory was the Huskies' first home victory over
Lake Howell in school history and first time they have won back-to-back
Homecoming games.

The Huskies offense was led by career games from Driskel and Pettis. Driskel
passed for a career-high 169 yards and 3 touchdowns, which equals the single
game record set by older brother Jeff. His 13 touchdown passes on the season
also equal Jeff's school record. Pettis posted career highs with 5 receptions
for 85 yards and 2 touchdowns. Seniors Young, Kelvin Weaver, and Garrett Moon
combined for 134 rushing yards to balance the attack.

The Huskies' defense was led by Seniors Cullen Wheeler (8 tackles), Erick Manley
(8 tackles, 2 for loss), Fair (7 tackles including the sack), Albers (7
tackles), Young (4 tackles), and Spencer Britton (Fumble recovery).

The Huskies football program would like to thank the parents, faculty and staff,
and community of Hagerty High School for their outstanding support this season.
We will see you in the stands next year! GO HUSKIES!!
