(Maybe “The World Would Be a Better Place If…” you participated in Reflections!)

Previously in PTA Reflections news…

The Hagerty Reflections results are in!

The PTA Reflections program is a national fine arts program that offers the opportunity for students to express themselves through art.  The 2013-2014 contest theme is "Believe, Dream, Inspire".  Hagerty entrants were submitted in November and were judged.  The finalists in each category were then submitted to the Seminole County PTA to be judged in the spring.

Congratulations to the following students:

  • Robert Burke, literature

  • Julia Rollins, literature

  • MaKenna Lehmann, photography

  • Porsha Martin, photography

  • Julia Rollins, photography

These Hagerty PTA winners have been notified and all of these entries have been entered into the county level PTA reflections program.  Please keep your fingers crossed in hopes that Seminole County recognition will come again to Hagerty High School.

If you feel that this has passed you by and you would like to participate next year to grab some glory for Hagerty and bragging rights for yourself, you can start working on next year's theme!  The theme for the 2014-2015 PTA Reflections has been announced as "The World Would Be a Better Place If..." and work on your own reflective project in one or more of these categories:  film production, dance choreography, literature, musical composition, photography or visual arts (which includes art forms such as drawing, painting, printmaking, graphic design and collage).

For more information, check out FloridaPTA.org.  If you still have further questions, please contact Jane Rollins, Hagerty PTA Reflections Chair, at HagertyReflections@gmail.com

Dividend Volunteers
Volunteers are not paid -- not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.

The Dividends School Volunteer program is the district wide program which promotes community involvement in Seminole County schools like Hagerty High School.  Volunteer participation hours are documented and are what have made HHS a 5 Star School!  Adult and Student Volunteer hours lead to the Golden and Silver School Awards.  In order to volunteer, you must submit an application to the Dividends Office.  Current volunteers are required to re-activate their applications annually, which can be done online thru the county website.  Don’t forget to log all volunteer hours (on and off campus) in support of HHS activities for 2013-2014. Every hour counts!

Dividend Recognition Program
Here at Hagerty High School we have numerous dedicated Dividends who devote countless hours assisting staff and students. Many opportunities afforded to our school population wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers.  To thank those who have made such a difference at HHS, PTSA recognizes the efforts of Hagerty’s outstanding dividends on a monthly basis.  If you know of a volunteer who deserves to be rewarded for their efforts, we ask that you nominate them by submitting their name in the nominating box provided in the front office, or emailing your nomination directly to
kemc727@gmail.com.  Let’s work together and show our appreciation to those volunteers who are working hard to make HHS the best it can be!

November Dividend of the Month- Damien Gravois
December Dividend of the Month- Lisa Harter and Catherine Griffiths
January Dividend of the Month- Ryan Lee and Patty Reyenga
