As a mother of two beautiful daughters, I was faced with the same dilemma that all mothers are faced with when their first child is born – To stay at home or to work? I chose both. Rather than sending my children to daycare, I brought daycare to them and turned my home into a business. As my children grew, I went to work at other daycares and when they entered high school I began substitute teaching at their schools. It was then that I was given the chance to take on a full time position teaching Child Development. It was a unique and rewarding opportunity to put my experience and education to combined use. Since then, I have taught other courses including Family Dynamics, Nutrition and Wellness and now Early Childhood Education. I can honestly say that I love what I do.

  • As the teacher of Levels II, III, and IV of Early Childhood Education, my duties include being the director of the Husky Pups Preschool.  The Preschool provides high school students the experience of working directly with children as their teachers.  Students are entirely responsible for the preschool including creating lesson plans, coordinating activities, planning snacks, and dealing with the day-to-day requirements of running a business.  We have 20 3-5 year old children and approximately 105 High School Student Teachers who work with them.

  • I am also co-sponsor of the Hagerty High School chapter of National Honor Society
