Community Service

Community Service is not a high school graduation requirement but it is required if you are trying to get the Bright Futures Scholarship to pay for college. There are also many other scholarships and some extracurricular clubs/activities that require community service. Please be sure to check the current Bright Futures requirements to see how many hours are needed.

Students needing to complete community service hours must follow procedures below:
  • Obtain the Application & Service Hours Log (available below or in each counseling office)
  • Begin volunteering or recording paid work hours on the updated log form
  • Once the student is complete with ALL of their hours needed for Bright Futures they must turn in:
  1. Completed application (one for each location)
  2. Completed service hours log(s)
  3. AND a 1 page typed reflection essay (step 7 in application) to your counselor
