Advanced Placement Courses are designed for students who wish to pursue college level work while still in high school. Students will be able to earn college credit by passing the AP exam given in May of the year the student took the AP course.
College admission officers highly recommend participation in Advanced Placement courses. According to College Board, the organization that provides the AP program, “students who participate in AP are ultimately given the responsibility to reason, analyze, and understand for themselves. Such intellectual training inevitably helps them succeed in college, where these skills are essential.”
